Annual fisheries consultations between EU and Norway

The first round of annual fisheries consultations between EU and Norway will take place from 8-10 November in Bergen.

04/11/2005 :: This is succeeded by the second round of negotiations in Brussels between 28 November and  2 December. The goal is to reach a bilateral fisheries agreement for 2006. The agreement will fix the Parties fishery next year on common fish stocks in the North Sea, the Norwegian fishery west of the British Isles and in Greenlandic waters, as well as the EU’s fishery in the Norwegian Economic Zone in the Barents Sea. The EEA Agreement does not cover the management of Norwegian fisheries resources. The co-operation on resource management between the EU and Norway is based on bilateral agreements.
