“Norwegian foreign policy begins in Europe”

Last updated: 29.03.2016 // In his annual foreign policy address to the Norwegian parliament on March 1, Foreign Minister Børge Brende emphasized European challenges and Norway’s relations with Europe.

“European cooperation is being put to the test by migration, economic crises, the threat of terrorism and the fact that established international rules are coming under pressure”, said Brende.

He also underlined the strong ties between Norway and Europe: “Norway’s fate is inextricably linked with that of the rest of Europe. Politically, economically, and in most areas of society, what happens in Europe has direct implications for Norway.”
