The Ministry of Justice and Public Security, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence and the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation, has decided to charter the vessel

‘The Government is strengthening the Norwegian efforts in the Mediterranean by sending the vessel Siem Pilot and personnel to participate in Joint Operation Triton,’ said Prime Minister Erna Solberg. The vessel is to sail from Norway by the end of May. Read more

The Norwegian government suggests that Norway by 2030 reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40 per cent compared to the 1990 level. The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has today granted Statnett licenses for two new electricity interconnectors, one to Germany and one to the United Kingdom. In total, this will increase Norway’s interconnection capacity with near 50 percent. Statnett plans commissioning of the cable to Germany in 2018, while the cable to the UK is planned commissioned in 2020. Read more

On Thursday, Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Mr. Tord Lien, participated in the joint EU/Norway conference on “A reinforced energy partnership between Norway and the EU” in Brussels. He also had a meeting with EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger in the framework of the EU-Norway Energy Dialogue. Read more
