On 30 November the Norwegian contribution to the Green Paper on a European Maritime Policy was handed over to the European Commission.
22/12/2005 :: The aim of the policy document which the Norwegian Government has presented to the European Commission, is to safeguard Norwegian interests towards the EU in areas including shipping, maritime transport in open sea and coastal zones,, fisheries, petroleum and natural gas related activities, costal management, environment, maritime law and issues related to northern areas. The Norwegian document is an input to the European Commission’s efforts towards an integrated maritime EU policy. As a first step in this process a Green Paper will be presented in spring 2006.
